Losing Our Voice: The End is Nigh

The topic of ‘free speech’ and an individual’s right to be heard has unbelievably become contentious, as some wish to turn their voices off. More so, our preferred social platform has been a suitable podium for us to echo our thoughts, and our delight or disappointment, along with voicing unhappiness with a company and the so-called ‘establishment.’

An Attack of Our Freedom

Often our sentiment aligns with many others who are perhaps hesitant to acknowledge the same, or offer similar support, as they fear the newly founded and typically ignorant ‘social police’ knocking on their front door and arresting them for merely speaking their mind. It’s akin to someone telling you to shut up or else.

The US brings forward closer ownership of TikTok.

 This is nothing more than control and a level of censorship that has become corrosive. Furthermore, the US has been pressing ByteDance, the Chinese owners of TikTok to become under America’s control through a joint-partnership—probably fuelled by paranoia. Speaking of paranoia, the British government are wanting to introduce the ‘Brit-card,’ again further fuelling speculation that big brother is watching, and tantamount to an attack on our freedom. But there are also additional rumours circulating, where the government can track and trace pretty much everything you do.

Our Voices are Falling on Deaf Ears

The government purports that the ID card will “help with illegal immigration,” and anyone seeking employment must possess the card. Let’s not forget, those who do employ non-card holders, are likely to be rouge employers anyway.

We already have an existing base of world dictators misaligning and steering their people to believe in something that is not true. Likewise, when an alleged wannabe dictator in the United States wishes to control the media, especially such media that provides a realistic perspective of his lack of leadership, along with his idiocy, insecurities, and self-gratification, our objections definitely fall on deaf ears. Nonetheless, welcome back Jimmy—with so many loud voices we were heard!

Censorship is Spreading

Most people would have ordinarily laughed at or shrugged off any negative commentary and moved on to issues that really matter. We are all built differently, but nowadays there are those who are super-sensitive, and narcissistic. If someone dares to speak and offer an alternative viewpoint, they run away seeking their big teddy, on their big pillow, sourcing solace and reassurance from others that they were right.

The control of our voice is not limited to our own thoughts and perspectives either, it seems censorship is seeping into the internet by those who know better than us!

Who is Pulling Our Puppet Strings?

I have always maintained that the internet should provide us with a freedom of expression, which must remain open to all, whilst there are numerous functions available at home and work to prohibit access typically not suitable for children and work. Otherwise, I would argue that the internet should remain open despite numerus malicious and dubious context. You see, if someone wants to find something, they will!

I raise the question, “What if this control to inhibit access to content is masked with a larger agenda?” and who exactly is pulling our puppet strings? Perhaps, we are being led away from uncomfortable truths that may upset the balance of the new world order.

You need to listen, as we are not happy.

In general, and perhaps I shouldn’t write this, but the populous, this is ‘Joe Public,’ in our respective nations ordinarily outnumber those in charge, along with the police and military. I would suggest if we were pushed too much, then the population will want a change despite the armed services and the like. For those in charge, you need to listen, as we are not happy.
